PE4Life Academies to Utilize HOGGAN's Fitness and Wellness Equipment
KANSAS CITY, MO September 13, 2006 HOGGAN Health Industries, a Salt Lake City based manufacturer of wellness equipment and medical diagnostic tools and PE4life, the nation's leading advocate for quality health and wellness based physical education programs, have joined forces in a national effort to expand the number of quality physical education programs in America's schools.
As part of the new partnership, HOGGAN will provide extensive support to PE4life Academies, which are exemplary physical education programs that train communities and school districts in the PE4life health-and-wellness-based approach to physical education.

PE4life advocates the adoption of new technologies that enable an individualized approach to student health and wellness programs, as well as assessment of progress toward fitness goals. To date, PE4life programs have positively impacted 1.5 million schoolchildren across the country. That number is expected to grow significantly as PE4life begins to implement an aggressive expansion campaign.

Almost 65 percent of adults in the United States are either overweight or obese, and current trends suggest that number will jump dramatically in the coming decades. Moreover, the health implications go far beyond bodyweight. For example, the incidence of high blood pressure and Type 2 diabetes, once considered adult problems, has increased dramatically in children and adolescents because more of them are overweight.
